We will be talk about the multiple benefits and necessity of Native Hedgerows for biodiversity.  We will identify the various species. We will lay out a plan of the Hedgerow and where and why we place the individual plants. We will then proceed to plant.Species will include: mostly Whitethorn and Blackthorn. Among them will be Guelder Rose, Spindle, Bird Cherry, Alder Buckthorn, Purging Buckthorn, Hazel, Crab apple, Holly, Wild Rose and more.

As part of National Tree Week, Third Space Galway welcomes you to take part in a Community Tree Planting day of a new Edible Forest Demonstration Garden in the Westside Playing Fields, near Circular Rd. on Sunday March 12th at 2pm.

This is an exciting new project for Westside consisting of the planting of native trees, with a variety of soft fruit, fruits trees and edible shrubs, alongside many perennial and annual edibles and medicinal herbs. The aim is to provide in time, free organic food for use by the local community. Everyone is invited to take part.
