'The Squire's Walking Stick', as named by Thomas Pakenham. "Ireland's tallest oak tree", which stands in the grounds of Tullynally Castle and was planted 250 years ago as part of a scheme to provide timber for the British Navy. Today its acorns have been used as the basis for a new copse which will preserve its heritage
