A tree with folklore or mythology
A recent replacment for a rag tree at St.Ciaran's Well; formally visited as part of the 'Long Station'. The pilgimage that took in this well was usually done in bare feet, prayers were said, rounds of the well made and reverence paid to the carved stones by the well. Votive offerings are left on the tree, a hawthorn with no thorns.
