A site of religious significance
An amazing ash at St Benin's well; up to the mid 19th century it was the object of veneration and a pattern was held on garland Sunday; beside a 5th century church and round tower. This magnificent ash tree is literally wrapping itself around the walls of the well as if to protect it.
