Lime

Lime trees have a broad, spreading crown and a straight trunk. The leaves are heart-shaped and alternate along the branches. They are dark green on the upper surface and paler beneath, with serrated margins. The leaves turn yellow in autumn before falling. Lime Trees produce fragrant, pale yellow flowers that hang in clusters from slender stalks. The flowers have five petals and bloom in early summer, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. The fruit of the Common Lime Tree is a small, round nutlet with a papery wing attached, produced in clusters after flowering.
Up to 40m.
